Camelback Ski Area Offers World-Class Ski Instruction For Kids and Adults

When it comes to prepping newbie skiers for the slopes, Camelback Ski Area in the Poconos Tannersville, PA is the perfect place to get schooled.
Skiers of all levels and ages will find an excellent instruction program staffed by certified instructors who genuinely want to help you learn to ski or snowboard. Here are a few ideas to keep in mind if you're considering ski school at Camelback mountain PA.
Don't forget to plan ahead.
To save time on the slope, go online to enroll you or your child before heading to the mountain. Not only does this save time when you get there, but it ensures the student has a spot and you and your child won't have to spend your day frustrated and waiting, while the rest of the members of your party swoosh down the slopes.
Check instructor qualifications.
What type of skiing instruction do you need? At Camelback Ski Area PSIA-certified Level 2 instructor can teach any type of skiing, from getting started to how to conquer the black diamonds. Those desiring more advanced instruction may need a Level 3 instructor. When you register, ask about a class that has a small group so you can get more personalized instruction. Ask about how long the instructors have been teaching and on what terrain they're certified to teach.
Consider the cost.
The cost is $28 for a midweek/weekend group class; $90 for a private lesson. Or you could purchase a package instruction/rental/lift deal, which is available for $125. Local ski and snowboard shops in the area may offer cheaper deals for private instruction.
Prep the littlest skiers.
If your child is under 5, Camelback Ski Area generally doesn't recommend group or private instruction, however, some babysitting options are available for tots whose parents want to ski.
Options for those with disabilities.
In addition to offering lessons to kids and adults, Camelback Ski Area also provides ski and snowboard instruction to people with disabilities, as part of the Pennsylvania Center for Adapted Sports. Ski and snowboard lessons are available by appointment.
Check out a class.
Not sure whether you want or need a ski lesson? To get a feel for what to expect from a class, ask the Camelback Ski area if you can observe a class without paying for a lift ticket. You'll get a sense of whether you can benefit or whether you're ready to hit the slopes solo.
